Coonawarra Vignerons Cup
Regarded as a highlight on the country race meeting calendar, the Coonawarra Cup attracts over 3000 visitors to the Penola Racecourse, of which, up to 700 guests will be hosted by members of Coonawarra Grape and Wine Incorporated in its lavish marquee and treated to a full day of fun, fabulous food, fashion and of course fantastic Coonawarra wine!

The Annual Coonawarra Vignerons Classic Clash Petanque Tournament
Le Jeu Provençal! The Annual Coonawarra Classic Clash Petanque Tournament is held at the Piste, in the Coonawarra Park. The sounds of clashing steel balls, screams of delight and the clink of wine glasses will echo around the Coonawarra township.  The Classic Clash has become a highlight of the national Petanque calendar, with some of Australia's best players coming from Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and the Limestone Coast to compete in this prestigious event.

Coonawarra After Dark Weekend
Experience all the thrills, excitement and the lights of vintage as Coonawarra wineries open their doors to visitors at the peak of the grape harvest (vintage). Join in our annual grape stomp, enjoy the region’s best homemade pizzas, dance the night away and feast on the famous Greek banquet. Take a tour of a working winery, meet and chat with the winemakers, watch the grape harvesters in action, enjoy our wonderful local produce and sample our region's finest wines.

Penola Coonawarra Arts Festival
Celebrate our region's rich history and artistic talents over four days with working artists, performances, exhibitions, workshops, walking tours, fabulous food and fine wine. The Penola Coonawarra Arts Festival is one of regional Australia's leading arts festivals. It celebrates the literary and arts heritage of Penola and the fine wines of Coonawarra as well as the region’s premium produce.

Coonawarra Cellar Dwellers
Coonawarra will dig out some treasures from their cellars to offer visitors a rare opportunity to taste and buy aged wine during the month of July. Coonawarra wines are well known for their aging ability and Cellar Dwellers provides our region with an opportunity to showcase wines that are otherwise not available for tasting.
Join us for one of the many dinners and degustation’s held throughout the month or simply wander the vineyards and visit the cellar doors before warming up with a glass of Coonawarra aged wine and a crackling open fireplace.

Coonawarra Wine Tasting Roadshow
From the peaceful vineyards of Coonawarra, to the energetic hubs of Australian cities, the Coonawarra Wine Tasting Roadshow is a highly anticipated event which travels to capital cities during the month of August.  For 12 years, Coonawarra winemakers, winery owners and their families have embarked on a nationwide road trip to conduct tastings and chat to wine enthusiasts about their wines in six Australian capital cities.
This is a rare opportunity to experience the best that Coonawarra has to offer in your very own back yard.  Individual wineries from the renowned Coonawarra region will showcase their wines at this celebrated event. With up to 26 Coonawarra wineries represented, visitors will have the opportunity to taste the wines and meet the winemakers and owners behind these famous brands.

Coonawarra Cup Masters Golf Day

This will be the third year for the Coonawarra Cup Masters Golf Day, and already the competition is heating up.  Played under the Ambrose rules, the 2015 nett score of 53 is the score to beat to mark your place in the record books.  A team of four is all it takes, and a coach is optional.  It’s become a fun afternoon event played at the Penola Golf Course, where even the kangaroos and lightning strikes isn’t be enough to deter the keenest of players.

Coonawarra Vignerons Cup

The Coonawarra Vigneron’s Cup is a highlight of the country race calendar, attracting over 3000 visitors keen to soak up the atmosphere of a great meet.  Join members of the Coonawarra Grape and Wine Incorporated as they host up to 700 guests in the lavish marquee, decked out in a sea of red (we are Australia’s red wine centre) as the backdrop to savouring some amazing wines, delicious gourmet food, and enjoying the thrills of spirited bidding at the in-house auctions.  It’s a great day, not to be missed.
