The first decade of the 21st century has seen some vintages ripen much earlier than one would have expected during the 1980's to 1990's.  Winemakers and grape growers from Coonawarra are adapting to the earlier and warmer vintages.  Earlier seasons in Coonawarra tend to produce riper and fuller styles but are we achieving the concentration of varietal flavours that has made Coonawarra the pre-eminent Australian producer of traditional Bordeaux varieties?
